New Media Specialist Requirements
Requirements for Teachers without a Library Information Science or equivalent Degrees
At least one year of prior teaching experience
Have State of Florida Teacher Certification or be eligible to be certified.
Pass district media specialist screening
Pass the state media certification test within one year of being hired
Sign an Intent to Earn Agreement to earn 18 hours in specific Library Information Science unversity level courses
Complete any other district level requirements

Required Courses can be taken at the School of Library & Information Science at the University of South Florida

Requirements for Media Specialists with a degree in Library Information Science
Have a degree in Library Information Science or equivalent
